The Sangeet function in Indian weddings is the one time you get to see every member of the close & extended family dance. An explosion of colours along with an explosion of music. Here are some candid shots from the sangeet function of Suhani & Gyanesh. Their sangeet happened at the Garware Club at the Wankhade Stadium, Mumbai. Below you can see a few portraits that we took at the end of the day, followed by pictures from the Sangeet function itself. Hope you enjoy. To see pictures of her wedding, check this out.

When Suhani & Gyanesh got married in the wintery winds of Mumbai, it was an affair full of life and laughter. Quirky & bubbly Suhani and calm & suave Gyanesh made a perfect couple on their wedding day. We were privileged to be part of their wedding & capture memories for them. We had earlier shot the wedding of Suhani’s elder sister Priya, so this was again another wedding in the family. Here are some memories from their wedding for you to enjoy. You can check out the other pictures of the earlier Sangeet & Mehendi functions, if you haven’t done so yet. The Brides Room:
So we started the day off with covering the pictures of the bride at the beautiful Hotel Marine Plaza, which offered an exquisite view of the queens necklace through its large glass windows. The shot of a lehenga with the beautiful backdrop became mandatory the moment we saw the view. But this shot was really difficult to pull off, with the bright afternoon sun blowing out in the settings that matched the room exposure. Off-camera lighting + HDR came to our rescue.
We followed it up with some portraits against the lovely window light that the room had to offer. Suhani was fun to shoot, enthusiastic to get as many pictures as possible before we were forced to move to the wedding venue. Time for the varn-maala! We always maintain that the attitude of the bride & groom contribute so much to how your pictures turn out on the wedding day.
And we couldnt ignore the green creeper-walls that adorned the Marina. Some portraits there too!
The wedding and the reception was at the plush Thackers, a property that lies right in the middle of Marine Drive in south Mumbai, facing the Arabian Sea. The baarat was scheduled to happen in the afternoon, which made taking pictures challenging. People tend to frown, seat and the pictures tend to get overexposed. But the wasnt as sunny as we expected and the pictures turned out grey. Gyani looking elegant on the grooms horse.
